Tik nenovērtēta šī valsts un tik daudz apslēptā skaistuma pilna – pārsteidzoša, dažāda un negaidīti skaista. Lai arī Albānijā vēl pie klientu apkalpošanas etiķetes ir jāpiestrādā, tomēr dizainisku, skaistu un gardu vietu netrūkst.
Galamērķis, kas ir budžetam draudzīgs un kas sniedz nenovērtējamu skaistumu – bagātīga daba no kalniem līdz pat ezeriem un pludmalēm, vēsturiska pilsētu un ciematu bagātība, modernas ballīšu vietas un pludmales bāri, pasakaini skaisti saules rieti un dažādu tautu garšu apvienojums virtuvē.
Daba, kas aizrauj elpu
Bovilla ezers – only 45 minutes from Tirana, the road to Bovilla Lake is slow and a bit challenging, but absolutely worth the effort. This mountain lake stuns with its turquoise waters and breathtaking, colorful landscapes that feel almost surreal.
And the grilled cheese at the small café nearby? Hands down the best I had in all of Albania – a flavor that will stay with me forever!
Komani ezers un Shala upe – where crystal-clear waters meet steep mountain cliffs and untouched serenity, these two destinations are an absolute must when visiting Albania. Often called “the Thailand of Albania”, this region impresses with its dramatic and exotic scenery.
Komani Lake winds through narrow mountain canyons, while the Shala River dazzles with turquoise water, lush green hills, and charming wooden bridges. Yes, the water is ice-cold, but on a hot summer day, there’s nothing more refreshing than a dip in this natural paradise!
Albānijas piekraste no laivas – a boat trip that unveils the beauty of the coastline and the ever-changing shades of the Ionian Sea. We set off from Himara, which in my opinion offers the most stunning coastal views and access to the most secluded beaches in the region.

Iesaku – “Exploring himara boat trips” piedāvātos laivu izbraucienus, bet Albānija arī ir lieliska vieta, kur pats vari noīrēt laivu un piedzīvot apslēptās pludmales, esot tikai kopā ar saviem ceļabiedriem uz klāja.
Lekuresi cietoksnis – from the ruins of this historic fortress, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view over Saranda and the surrounding coastline. It’s especially magical at sunset, when the sky turns golden and the sea glows below – a perfect spot to end the day with a view to remember.
Vietas, kur nakšņot Albānijā
Epidamn White Sensation – the Durres region is a popular destination for beach holidays and hotel stays, which often means it’s bustling with people. But Epidamn White Sensation proved to be a peaceful exception to the usual beachside buzz.
A stylish, design-forward hotel where every detail feels thoughtfully curated – and the sunsets from the room terrace? Absolutely magical.
Zoe Hora – this charming hotel offers an authentic, cozy, and romantic atmosphere in a quiet town.
It also features a restaurant and cocktail bar, perfect for enjoying dinner while watching the sunset. They even offer yoga sessions, which sadly weren’t available during my stay – but it’s definitely something I’d love to experience next time.
Nobus Hotel – a modern hotel with a sleek design and gorgeous sunset views. The perfect place to unwind by the pool, sip cocktails, and watch the sun melt into the horizon. Ideal for those who love a touch of luxury with a view.
Pludmales atpūtai
Poda Beach Bar and Restaurant – a popular beach bar and restaurant in the Durres region, modern, trendy and Instagram-worthy. This isn’t the place for peace and quiet, but if you’re into beach parties and vibrant energy, it’s a great spot to soak up the sun and the scene.
Lost Sarandë – a design-forward beach bar and restaurant with a fantastic sunbathing area. While the service wasn’t the most pleasant, the daytime and evening beach party vibes make it worth a visit if you’re looking for a lively atmosphere by the sea.
Principote – a loud but beautifully curated beach club, perfect for those who love a mix of daytime lounging and nighttime partying. Spend the day relaxing on sunbeds, and stay for the true taste of Albanian nightlife after dark.
Pema e Thatë – located just outside Ksamil, this beach is quieter and less crowded, offering a more relaxing and enjoyable experience. With sunbeds and crystal-clear water, it truly feels like a slice of the Maldives in Albania.
My Tip – the most beautiful beaches stretch from Ksamil to Radhimë – perfect if you’re chasing crystal-clear waters and scenic coastlines. If that’s your goal, skip Durres, as it doesn’t offer the same level of beach beauty.
Ēdiens
Albanian cuisine is a diverse and authentic blend of Ottoman, Greek, Italian, and local traditions. Every meal feels like a journey through cultures, with fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and heartwarming hospitality.
Aqua Lounge Bar – Restaurant, Durres – a perfect mix of delicious food, creative cocktails, stylish design, and a great atmosphere. Ideal for a relaxed evening by the sea.
Bovilla Restaurant – a simpler, more rustic spot with incredible views – and the grilled cheese is an absolute must-try! Tasty, unpretentious, and satisfying.
Ftea Fish Taverna, Ksamil – a fantastic place for seafood lovers – fresh, flavorful, and full of local charm.
Poda Restaurant, Ksamil – thoughtfully crafted dishes with a creative twist. Delicious food and a beautiful sunset setting make it a perfect spot for a memorable dinner.
Pārvietošanās
With a rental car, you can safely explore all of Albania. Most main roads are in good condition, but it’s worth noting that in rural areas or mountainous regions, roads can be very rough, and at times your driving speed may feel more like walking pace.
Overall, the journey can be challenging in places, but it’s absolutely doable – and renting a car is one of the best ways to experience as much of Albania as possible at your own pace.

Berata – the city of a thousand windows, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where history, authenticity, and both Christian and Islamic cultures meet in harmony.
The Blue Eye – one of Albania’s most mystical natural wonders, a spring with crystal-clear, deep blue water that seems to come from another world.
Albania is full of hidden corners, from mountain trails and deep canyons to untouched rivers and charming towns. It’s a country I know I’ll return to – because seven days simply aren’t enough to truly experience all the beauty and diversity it has to offer.
