Far from the crowds and the rush, with no facilities, no caf\u00e9s, and no sunbeds \u2013 just nature, peace, and the sea. A truly special place \u2013 Europe\u2019s own Seychelles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spiaggia La Cinta is one of Sardinia\u2019s most iconic beaches, located near the town of San Teodoro. It\u2019s like stepping into a postcard \u2013 a long stretch of soft white sand, turquoise waters, and the majestic silhouette of Tavolara Island in the background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Cinta is the perfect destination if you’re looking for space, comfort, and the full glory of the sea. There\u2019s easy access to parking, sunbed rentals, and beach caf\u00e9s. However, it\u2019s worth noting that the beach can get quite crowded, especially near the parking area and the caf\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’re seeking tranquility, a bit of patience and a short walk will reward you. Head toward the far end of the beach, closer to Tavolara, and you\u2019ll discover the true essence of La Cinta \u2013 peaceful, spacious, and stunningly beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spaggia di Cala Coticcio<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spiaggia di Cala Coticcio, also known as Sardinia\u2019s Tahiti, is a small, protected cove on Caprera Island, part of the La Maddalena Archipelago in northeastern Sardinia. Locals call it \u201cTahiti\u201d thanks to its turquoise waters, pink granite cliffs, and fine white sand, creating an exotic, almost surreal landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cala Coticcio is one of the most strictly protected beaches in Sardinia, with access limited to just 60 people per day. There are two ways to reach it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Guided hike \u2013 A roughly 1-hour trail through rocky terrain and Mediterranean scrub, only accessible with a certified guide (\u20ac25 for the guide + \u20ac3 park entrance fee). We chose this option, and the journey itself was breathtaking \u2013 filled with spectacular natural views and raw beauty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Boat excursion \u2013 Available from Palau or La Maddalena, though boats cannot dock directly at the beach. You can swim or snorkel to reach the shore.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    There are no facilities at Cala Coticcio \u2013 no caf\u00e9s, no toilets, no sunbeds. You\u2019ll need to bring your own water, food, and note that towels are not allowed directly on the sand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Cala Coticcio is not just a beach \u2013 it\u2019s an experience. It demands effort, but rewards you with unforgettable sensations. It\u2019s a place where nature reigns, and you are merely a guest in its pristine, magical world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Baunei piekraste<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The Baunei coastline is one of Sardinia\u2019s most spectacular treasures. Along this eastern shore, dramatic cliffs plunge into the sea, wild nature meets turquoise waters, and the beaches are accessible only by boat or long hikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We chose to explore this coastline on a self-guided boat trip from Santa Maria Navarrese (AEQUOR boat rental), which allowed us to visit several of these remote and breathtaking beaches in a single day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Cala Goloritz\u00e9<\/strong> – a UNESCO-protected beach, where white pebbles meet crystal-clear water, framed by iconic limestone spires, including the famous Aguglia cliff. This is one of those places where time stands still. It\u2019s not just a beach \u2013 it\u2019s an experience, a mood, a story you want to take with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Cala Luna<\/strong> – golden sand, smooth pebbles, clear water, and massive caves carved into the cliffs right by the shore, offering natural shade and a surreal atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Cala Mariolu<\/strong> – this beach dazzles with marble-white pebbles that sparkle like crystals in the sun, and water so clear it feels like your boat is floating in the air. It\u2019s a popular stop for larger boat tours, so we chose to admire it from the water, avoiding the crowds and soaking in the views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Berchida Beach<\/strong> – peaceful and fairly authentic \u2013 you can definitely find a spot where you\u2019re completely alone. If it\u2019s close to your accommodation, it\u2019s a convenient and decent choice. But if it requires a longer drive, in our opinion \u2013 you can skip it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Cane Malu <\/strong>– natural pools carved by the sea and wind into white trachyte cliffs. This spot is better suited for active recreation \u2013 cliff jumping into the natural basins. It\u2019s unique, but not ideal for a relaxing beach day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Spiaggia La Pelosa<\/strong> – often called the queen of Sardinian beaches, famous for its white sand, shallow crystal-clear water, and the iconic 16th-century tower on a small offshore islet. Despite being strictly protected with access rules, mandatory reservations, and a symbolic entrance fee \u2013 the crowds are overwhelming. Enjoying the beach in peace is nearly impossible. There are smaller beaches nearby from which you can admire the view, but this coastline is heavily frequented, and privacy is nowhere to be found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Inform\u0101cijai<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    One of the unique advantages of traveling in Sardinia is that you can rent a boat with just a regular driver\u2019s license \u2013 and it\u2019s an opportunity you shouldn\u2019t miss. Choose the coastline and beaches you want to explore, and steer your own boat away from the crowds and packed tour vessels for a truly personal experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    During the high season, several of Sardinia\u2019s most popular beaches require advance reservations. However, we found that it\u2019s nearly impossible to enjoy a beach surrounded by crowds, so we chose to skip those and instead opted for quieter, more secluded spots. Otherwise, our impressions of the magic of Sardinian beaches might have been very different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Also, keep in mind that almost every beach has paid parking, and from our experience, prices can reach up to \u20ac20 per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Bosa<\/strong> – one of the most colorful and romantic towns in Sardinia, Bosa is like a picturesque fairytale stretched along the banks of the Temo River. With its vibrant houses, medieval castle, and historic churches, Bosa is where history, nature, and culture blend into a harmonious landscape. It\u2019s the perfect stop along Sardinia\u2019s western coast \u2013 a place to relax, explore, and fall in love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    La Maddalena<\/strong> – an archipelago of 62 islands, each with its own story. The largest \u2013 La Maddalena Island \u2013 is the only inhabited one and can be reached by ferry from Palau. This area is a national park, combining wild nature, crystal-clear waters, historic landmarks, and a peaceful atmosphere. The archipelago is full of stunning beaches and natural scenery waiting to be discovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    La Maddalena pils\u0113ti\u0146a <\/strong>– a small, colorful town with narrow cobbled streets, local shops, caf\u00e9s, and a maritime museum \u2013 perfect for a leisurely stroll and soaking in the island\u2019s charm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Porto Cervo<\/strong> – the heart of Costa Smeralda, where Mediterranean elegance meets Sardinia\u2019s wild beauty. From luxury yachts and designer boutiques to quiet beaches, Porto Cervo offers a contrasting experience that surprises at every turn. It\u2019s the essence of Sardinian contrasts, and an ideal destination to end your journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Sard\u012bnijas gar\u0161as<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Sardinian cuisine is a story of land, people, and tradition. It\u2019s a mosaic of flavors, where every dish carries the essence of history, family, and celebration. And as in all of Italy \u2013 you simply can\u2019t escape the joy of indulging in its culinary delights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    La Cala<\/em>, Porto Cervo – we wanted to enjoy a sunset dinner, and this was a truly beautiful spot for it. Despite mixed reviews, we took the risk \u2013 and the food was genuinely delicious and well-prepared. Desserts, however, can be skipped. A great alternative to Phi Beach if you\u2019re looking for a more peaceful sunset atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Lucitta<\/em>, Tortol\u00ec – a place of variety, simplicity, and authentically tasty dishes. Honest cooking that leaves a lasting impression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Mood Caf\u00e9<\/em>, Tortol\u00ec – Perfect croissants, especially the pistachio-filled ones \u2013 a must-try for breakfast lovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    L\u2019Oasi<\/em> – a wide selection of local flavors, generous portions, and very affordable prices. It\u2019s so popular that queues form outside, as reservations are not accepted \u2013 a true local favorite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Cantina Tani <\/em>– one of the most memorable evenings of our trip was a visit to Cantina Tani \u2013 a family-run winery where you can not only taste local Sardinian wines, but also enjoy a truly authentic agriturismo dinner experience. Dinner was served beneath the vineyard canopy, with a table full of traditional dishes prepared from ingredients grown on the farm itself. It was a beautiful blend of flavor, atmosphere, and heartfelt hospitality, offering a genuine taste of Sardinia\u2019s land and soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Finding accommodation in Sardinia where price matches expectations can be a bit of a challenge. The island has a very specific style, with distinctive design and interiors that may not suit every taste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    That said, we found a couple of places that we truly enjoyed and wholeheartedly recommend:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Both were cozy, warm, and welcoming, offering a genuinely pleasant stay that felt personal and authentic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Auto<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

      If you want to experience as much of Sardinia as possible, renting a car is essential. The roads are generally in excellent condition, though you may encounter narrow stretches, winding mountain passes, and long drives between destinations. But the scenery is stunning, and every journey is rewarded with breathtaking natural views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Some of the most scenic drives include the coastal road from Bosa to Alghero, which is ranked among Europe\u2019s most beautiful coastal routes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
